ICEBREAKER for The HDIL Indian Oaks (Grade I)

Hi Folks,

Icebreaker trained by newly crowned champion trainer of Bangalore S.Padmanabhan,to be ridden by highly skillful jockey D.Allan is in good shape and should not find it difficult to win The HDIL Indian Oaks run over 2400mts. Icebreaker is the second best filly in the country who has improved with every run and further she goes better she travels. She had an educative run in one thousand guineas wherein she beat Originality quite comfortably home and dry. Still on scales it is just superior by 3.5kgs to Originality and 12kgs to Phenomenale (officially). Now Originality is the real joker in the pack. It is having the best track work of all the fillies running here but can she travel extra distance is a big question mark. According to me the longer she travels better. Hence she can trouble Icebreaker somewhat. Phenomenale though ran two thousand impressively and was seen leading the field upto 200mts, did not impress me much as Antonios placed ahead of her being 6kgs inferior in scales. Hence Icebreaker the Poonawalla Bangalore Derby winner is not short in class and in fact is way ahead of Phenomenale in scales and also has a proven record amongst good colts at Bangalore. Icebreaker having matched strides with the champion filly Set Alight in the 1000 Guineas gave me an impression that she had managed to hang on with Set Alight though only for a samll phase and please note that was her first run on Mumbai track. It was a gallop in preparation for the Oaks and that should make her connections very confident. Hence I would not hesitate to nominate Icebreaker as the best betting proposition for the day whereby one can make it a banker in the carried forward super jackpot pool and if need arises one can cover up by taking a permutation Tanala which is also carried forward by taking a simple four way ticket i.e. Icebreaker, Originality, Phenomenale and Attractress. In The P.D. Avasia Trophy I fancy Premier Perception in this inferior field as she has been consistent lately and the opposition she has to face is none too difficult. She looks good in this set and should prevail with ease. In The Byculla Club Trophy Meseeha with in form jockey S.A. Desousa looks outstanding eventhough it has been beaten by Nitrous last Mumbai season by 2.5ls. As Nitrous has lost form this season tremendously and was also beaten by former I do not see reversal. My rest of the speed ratings for the day are as follows;

ABOLINE for The Heeroji Lad Bangalore Juvenile Million

Hi Folks,

Firstly would like one point to be made very clear i.e. if you feel my write-ups are not rewarding please give it a slip but for god sake do not use foul language openly. One more time and will stop it forever.

Now as far as racing is concerned, Aboline scored impressive wins consecutively displaying his class. The Heeroji Lad Bangalore Juvenile Million the feature event of the concluding day's racing at Bangalore Winter should be annexed by Aboline. No doubt D'Artagnan is also a classic horse but advantage of an extra run by Aboline enables him to head the speed rating. In fact all three horses here i.e. Aboline, D'Artagnan and Cruising have won without being extended and have great scope for further improvement and will try to extend each other to claim the million. Still Aboline comes slightly better of the three and gets my nod on the basis of good speed rating. The Leading Stud Trophy looks an open race wherein both Spark Of Gold and Salsera running on promotion are inferior to Royal Ambassador by a class and hence the jodi can be eaten. Same is the case in The Leading Owner Trophy Div.I wherein the jodi of Superyacht and Sunny Gold can fail. Please note these are purely my presumptions and one should use his/her own calculation before going for the same. In the Div. II Noble Sacrifice has run some good races under its belt while finishing second on two occasions in maiden company. To-day she is well placed to score from Talisker. My remaining speed ratings for the day are as follows and if it fits in your calculations or views follow or ignore it not forcing.

RACE WAGERING STRATEGIST SELECTIONS BANGALORE 28.3.09

Iam using your blog to post my selections. I was not in the races for the last few months due to other commitments and hence not posting regularly in my blog.

Today got some free time and my selections are as follows :-

Race 1. Royal Bank stands at a TFR of 17.39 and should be able to hold off Redford who is at 9.96
Race 2. Caspian Sea runs nearly after 3 months. Is at -18.2. Gracian has been on board frequently and is at -22.9. Will place.
Race 3. Dante's Peak is in form and is at 22.48. Live it Up and New Pastures will find it difficult to beat it.
Race 4. Caprioska runs for the first time after June. Good record against good horses and is at 31.93. Telemacchus is at 8.57 and will place.
Race 5. Noble Sacrifice at 9.44 appeals more than Spring a Surprise who is at -3.16 and Talisker at -6.37.
Race 6. Mother's Pride looks to be a safe bet at a TFR of 24.79 and Royal Ambassador at 34.04 for place.
Race 7. Aboline at 27.81 should place.
Race 8. Sunny Gold with a TFR of 13.84 should be able to hold off Spicy Star who is close at 11.21.
Race 9. Count This appeals at 7.97.
Race 10. Southern Gladiator can place with a TFR of -3.73.

ARISTOS for The Stewards Trophy

Hi Folks,

J.S.Dhariwal trained Aristos to be ridden by Suraj Narredu holds an edge over others and should score in The Stewards Trophy the feature event of penultimate day's racing at Bangalore Winter meeting. It won last outing after a gap of nearly three months when it led from 600 and pulverized the opposition to win comfortably. Only negative factor here is that on account of promotion it will carry 2.5kgs extra in the highest class. Jersey Pride may trouble Aristos the most being the same class horse along with Logans Run and the aged Dinesa. In the The Garden City Trophy Div.I the supporting event of the day looks open. Even though Read My Mind has been fancied by connections it looks open to me. Whereas in the Div.II Blink looks good on account huge difference over others in speed rating. My remaining speed ratings for the races to be held to-day are as follows:

Classerville is in fine fettle and even though it won his last two outings narrowly, is expected to win The Poonawalla Breeders' Multi-Million (Grade I) to be run over a distance of 1400, the feature event of the day. Only negative factor is that in weights it is inferior by 3kgs. to Versaki. Whereas in mornig trials track work given on 20/3 was excellent as according to good source it was not at all stretched whilst tracking with Icebreaker but was trying to match strides without being extended. Versaki, Sheikha Grey Magic and joker in the pack Sans Pareil should fight for minor placings. In the Rusi Patel Trophy the supporting event of the day, Czar Alexander should lift this trophy with ease. In The Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy I fancy Forest Flair strongly. On past form one cannot play Diamond Hunter since it is running after a long gap. Aquitaine no doubt beat out of form Lady One handsomely, still in handicap rating it is lower by at least a class. Hence I strongly recommend Bourbon King which is not only superior to both Diamond Hunter and Aquitaine in speed but also in handicap rating. Having the best speed rating one can safely play it each way. In the Agumbe Plate for 3 years old only, I fancy Leonardo on the basis of good track work and since it was given an easy run last time. To-day one can play an each way bet. Dream Park and Corbett will try to trouble Leonardo. The Garuda Cup seems to be an open race wherein Mighty Heart comes in first followed by Just In Time which won last time out with plenty in hand alongwith Rare And Precious. Nearco Master and Miss Honeydew have raced together in RNo.157 wherein Nearco Master finished ahead. To-day with additional advantage in weights for Nearco Master, I feel will run better than Miss Honeydew in The Talkad Cup the main event for the day. Glory Bound is running after a gap of nearly three months and Competent Soldier is an unknown stuff. Hence I feel one can safely take a good chance each way on Nearco Master. Dancing Dynamite can win The Ramniwas Ramnarain Ruia Gold Cup(Grade II)

Hi Folks,

Though everyone practically in India will be hailing Set Alight to win this Cup, I have some doubts about the champion filly. I may be wrong and why not in the interest of punters hope so. Now if one looks deep into the running of Dancing Dynamite, will notice that the horse with top weight has clocked better than Set Alight for the same distances in 1400mts as well as 1600mts. Only difference between the running of the two horse is that Set Alight has not been extended whereas Dancing Dynamite was all-out. Further Set Alight has still not been tested by both colts i.e. Autonomy and Dancing Dynamite. Dancing Dynamite came late on the scene to finish close 2nd to in-form Autonomy on both occasions. Has been seen improving with each run and tracking well. Over the present distance I feel Dancing Dynamite has a chance to prove that the champion filly can be beaten, and if so, well Indian Derby will be interesting to watch. According to me the handicapping rating will be - Dancing Dynamite - Class I-64, Set Alight Cl I-59.5 and the rest come in Class II. Please note these are my views and workings which compel me to say that the result might be an upset, after all it is racing wherein anything can happen. OASIS STAR for The Dr. S.C.Jain Sprinters' Cup

Hi Folks,

Oasis Star, who won comfortably last time out over 1400mts., retains winning form, should score an encore in the Dr. S. C. Jain Sprinters’ Championship, the feature event of the races to be held to-day. The horse which may give a tough fight is Rhapsidion Snow which in fact is tracking better but on the basis of handicap rating former has an edge. In the supporting event for the day i.e. The C.N.Wadia Gold Cup (Gr.III) to be run over a distance of 2400mts. for Indian horses 4 years old and over I fancy Noble Prince strongly. It has the benefit of good run at Bangalore wherein it came 2nd to Vanquish after a long gap of nearly six months. Subsequent track work at Mumbai is satisfactory. In fact one cannot play Yana on past performances, hence I strongly fancy Noble Prince. My remaining speed ratings for the day are as follows:
